SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM |
| Each year we offer an interesting and exciting SUMMER CAMP for the children in the community. This program is held in conjunction with our regular day care service and has proven to be a boon to parents who need responsible, constructive and loving care for their children during the summer. The Camp is divided into two main groups, Lower Camp with children 2 and 3 years of age and Upper Camp for 4 and 5 year olds (who will attend kindergarten in the fall).
We use High Reach Learning, www.highreach.com curriculum with the preschool classes that is divided into 3 groups. Children in the four year old class use Butterflies, three year olds use Caterpillars and two year olds use the Tender Time material from High Reach. Music, computer play, arts and crafts projects are featured, as well as outdoor play and gardening on our 4-acre mini campus. Kick ball, croquet, horseshoes, soccer, basketball and "sandlot" baseball, along with other popular games are included in the program. The children enjoy afternoons (and sometimes mornings) of water play in several wading pools and the sprinkler. Frequently we invite resource persons with special skills and talents to come to the center and demonstrate their methods of work or present special programs. At the conclusion of Summer Camp in August, a FIELD DAY is held at which each group participates on its own level in a series of games and exercises. Parents are invited to join us for a picnic lunch on field day. |
